Knowing your exact FileMaker Pro version is important when reporting a problem or planning an update. The application name alone is not always enough because each major release may have several incremental updates.
On a Mac
Open FileMaker Pro. From the menu bar at the top of the screen, select FileMaker Pro > About FileMaker Pro.

On Windows
Open FileMaker Pro. From the Help menu, select About FileMaker Pro.

The window will display the full version number. It may look similar to 22.0.2 or 26.0.1. Include the complete number when contacting us.
If FileMaker will not open
On a Mac, open the Applications folder, select FileMaker Pro, and choose File > Get Info.

On Windows, you can review the application information in Settings > Apps, although the exact version may not always be displayed.

FileMaker Server is different
The FileMaker Server version is viewed through the FileMaker Server Admin Console. Most users do not have access to this area. Contact your server administrator or Portage Bay Solutions if the server version is needed.

On an iPhone or iPad
Open FileMaker Go on your iPhone or iPad and view the application information in its settings or App Store listing. When reporting an issue, also tell us the iOS or iPadOS version and the type of device you are using.
What to send us
A major version alone, such as FileMaker 2026, may not tell us whether the latest maintenance update is installed. Please provide the complete version number or a screenshot of the About window so we can compare it with FileMaker Server and the other workstations.
